Grief & Loss Support
A compassionate space to process loss, find meaning, and move forward at your own pace
Service Description
Grief is not a problem to fix—it’s a natural, human response to loss. Whether you’ve lost a loved one, experienced a major life transition, or are navigating the quiet ache of something that will never be the same, this space is here to help you move through it—without rushing, minimizing, or judging your process. Grief can take many forms: sadness, numbness, anger, guilt, disorientation, or even moments of unexpected calm. There’s no right way to grieve and no fixed timeline. What matters most is having the space to feel what you're feeling, to honor your loss, and to slowly begin finding your footing again. In our sessions, we’ll explore your unique experience of grief—what it means to you, how it’s showing up in your daily life, and what kind of support feels helpful right now. My approach is grounded in systemic and relational therapy, which means I consider not just your pain in isolation, but the roles, relationships, and cultural values that shape how grief is carried and expressed. Whether your loss is recent or something you've held for years, we’ll work together to help you navigate it with honesty, compassion, and emotional care. There’s no expectation to “move on”—only to move through. You may be seeking closure, clarity, or simply a safe place to speak about someone or something you’ve lost. All of that is welcome here. Sessions are 50 minutes, held via secure video, and available to adult clients in New York, Florida, and Arizona. Services are offered in English and Spanish. If your heart is heavy and you're not sure how to keep going, you don’t have to carry it alone. This is a place where your grief is allowed to exist—so healing can begin.
Cancellation Policy
Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy Your time and well-being are important, and so is the time reserved for your session. In order to offer the highest quality of care and respect for all clients, I kindly ask that you provide at least 48 hours' notice for any cancellation or rescheduling. If you cancel 48 hours or more prior to your scheduled session, you will not be charged. If a session is canceled less than 48 hours in advance, you will be responsible for 50% of the session fee, unless there is an emergency or exceptional circumstance. This policy is in place not to penalize, but to maintain fairness and allow others the opportunity to schedule in that time. No-shows or missed appointments without any prior notice may also result in a partial or full session charge, depending on the situation. Therapy is a commitment to your personal growth and care. Last-minute cancellations and no-shows not only impact your therapeutic progress, but they also prevent others from accessing services. If you are experiencing a true emergency or crisis that interferes with your ability to attend, please contact me as soon as possible. I understand that life happens, and I will always strive to balance clinical boundaries with compassion. This cancellation policy is in alignment with professional standards outlined by the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT), and with ethical practices in telehealth care. It is designed to protect client access, uphold clinical integrity, and support mutual respect in the therapeutic relationship. If you need to reschedule or cancel a session, you may do so directly through the booking system or by contacting me via email at therapy@michaeltise.com. By scheduling a session, you acknowledge and agree to these terms.
